Speaking in an open session of the parliament on Saturday, Ghalibaf said the massive participation of the Iranian people and those in other countries in International Quds Day rallies on Friday proved that the cause of Al-Quds is alive in the hearts of people.
He said by taking to the streets in cities and towns in various countries and chanting the slogan of supporting Palestinian liberation from occupation, the Muslim Ummah demonstrated that the Israeli regime’s end is imminent.
Ghlibaf went on to say that the Islamic Ummah will never compromise on the cause of liberation of Al-Quds and that the liberation of the holy city will be achieved with the blessing of God.
The International Quds Day is a legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, who designated the day in solidarity with Palestinians.
Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, the International Quds Day has been held worldwide on the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
This year, the International Quds Day fell on Friday, April 29.
